The Thanksgiving Castle
There is a King
with a Heavenly castle who has a room just for me. . .
who tells me I am His.
The king with the Heavenly castle knows
I can’t find my way home
on my own. . .
There is King with a heavenly castle who wages battle
against those who set snares and would bar my homeward journey . . .
mocking the life
of a faith, hope and love sojourner . . .
The King with the heavenly castle sent His beloved
son to find me, to redeem me
to show me the salvation way. . .
There is a King with a Heavenly castle
who stands beside me today
who encourages me not to live despair
but to live prayer, faith. . .
to live relationship and confidence
remembrance and thanksgiving. . .
because the Lord does answer in the day of trouble,
the name of the God of Jacob protects.
He sends help from His sanctuary
and support from zion.
He remembers all you’ve given Him:
your dreams, your children, your heart.
He regards with favor all you do in His name.
The King in the Castle who stands beside me
grants my heart’s desire
and fulfills all the plans He placed within me.
“Shout for joy over your salvation,” He says.
“Set up Banners that fly my name, Jehovah.
Set them up over your towns, your schools,
where you sleep, in your heart.”
Ask, Pray, Pour out your heart’s desires
that He may fulfill them with His
all-is-well plan.
The King with the castle saves
those that are His
with His own hands
Some trust
in the power
of bank accounts and business
government and constitutions
the integrity of a godless man’s word
and a godless man’s world. . .
those will crumble and fall
but for those
who trust in the King with the Castle,
who call Him Father,
fly the banner of Jehovah-nissi,
follow His son homeward
and we will not fall nor collapse
but rise to stand
The King with the castle,
He has my love, my allegiance
my remembrance and thanksgiving.
He answers when I call
with the saving plan!*
There is a King
with a Heavenly castle who has a room just for me. . .
who tells me I am His
Wherever I am, when I give thanks,
I enter His gates
and when I praise the One who Saved Me,
who brought me Home,
I enter into his courts!
I am thankful for The King who lives
in The Thanksgiving Castle!
Though I don’t always know the words,
He teaches me how to bless
His Holy Name! **

Remember Me Monday: #24 & Linky
“I’ll make a list of God’s gracious dealings,
all the things God has done that need praising,
All the generous bounties of God,
his great goodness to the family of Israel—
Compassion lavished,
love extravagant.”
~ Isaiah 63:7, The Message
In the Old Testament, God repeatedly, quietly and loudly, tells his children, “You have forgotten me!” (Jeremiah 3:32, Ezekiel 22:12, to name a few). It’s a heart cry from a father to a child who has forgotten all the love, all the saving, helping, little and big blessings – and it leaves me stunned when I realize our Father, the creator of the universe, who knows things I cannot begin to fathom, who authors storylines that leave me amazed, delights in all of us so much, He cries out, “Remember Me.”
While every day is a Remember God Day, I am inviting you to join me on Monday mornings to come by and remember what God has done for you, for your family. Maybe God sent a cardinal darting out in front of you, as if to tell you, “I’m here,” or broke a child’s fever after you laid it all down at His feet in a 2 a.m. bedside vigil. Maybe He stood with you in the wait of a prayer sent out, or brought someone you loved to Christ. Maybe He healed your broken heart, gave your courage, or you gave Him your dreams as a love offering only to have Him give them back in an unimaginable way. Maybe God helped you survive to bedtime after a crazy Monday, or forgive yourself for missing it with your kiddos –– Whatever it is, let’s Remember Him. . . in a “Remember Me Monday” love letter.
“My mouth will tell of your righteousness,
Of your salvation all the day long,
Though I know not its measure.
I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign Lord”
~ Psalm 71:15-16.

Lovely! I’m so glad I know the King of the Castle, too.
What a wonderful weaving together of Scripture. I am so thankful the King welcomes us in.
