The Story Behind Muddy Lecture Nuggets

Muddy is my grandmother name. It was my great-grandmother’s grandmother name. I’m Maryleigh and she was Mary Eva. When I started Instagram a while back, my two youngest son’s high school soccer team found out their mom had an IG account – so before soccer practice, to tease them, they would read what I wrote. I asked my boys if they’d rather I didn’t use my name, but changed it to my blog’s name – I thought that might deflect attention. Their response was a passionate, “NO! They don’t need to know you have a blog, too.” That’s a memory that still makes me laugh today.

I started stream-lining my IG content towards that audience and hash tagging with Muddy Lecture Nuggets – and as I gained more grandchildren, Becoming Muddy – a role that has, somehow, been a liberating role, reflecting on a season where I know whose I am has combined with stepping more fully into who I am–and liking who God has designed me to be–and the day-by-day revelation of that.

I’ve wanted a place for these Muddy lecture nuggets God put on m heart through the years (not associated with a previously published blog post, but maybe a seed to a few) and decided this would be a good place for them to rest.
