God’s Gracious Dealings
God’s gracious dealings
all the things He’s done. . . that need praising. . .
the generous bounties of God
His great goodness
compassion lavished
love extravagant

Thank you Father for little hands holding mine
for shell searches
and conversations about wise old elves
and how wise young elves become
wise old elves for great-grandmothers getting a new name, Ma-Maw
and babies sleeping on my shoulder as if it’s the best
place to snug out
for long car rides with the best companions
and God there when the next step feels overwhelming

Thank you for a husband who sees the worst and loves me best
for birds on the beach, sand in my shoes and my family – every one of them
who walks through my door. . .
and little grandboys who treasure the sand dollar their Papaw found for them
God’s Gracious Dealings, His generous bounties!
Thank you God for each big and little blessing!

Remember Me Monday: #11 & Linky
“I’ll make a list of God’s gracious dealings,
all the things God has done that need praising,
All the generous bounties of God,
his great goodness to the family of Israel—
Compassion lavished,
love extravagant.”
~ Isaiah 63:7, The Message
In the Old Testament, God repeatedly, quietly and loudly, tells his children, “You have forgotten me!” (Jeremiah 3:32, Ezekiel 22:12, to name a few). It’s a heart cry from a father to a child who has forgotten all the love, all the saving, helping, little and big blessings – and it leaves me stunned when I realize our Father, the creator of the universe, who knows things I cannot begin to fathom, who authors storylines that leave me amazed, delights in all of us so much, He cries out, “Remember Me.”
While every day is a Remember God Day, I am inviting you to join me on Monday mornings to come by and remember what God has done for you, for your family. Maybe God sent a cardinal darting out in front of you, as if to tell you, “I’m here,” or broke a child’s fever after you laid it all down at His feet in a 2 a.m. bedside vigil. Maybe He stood with you in the wait of a prayer sent out, or brought someone you loved to Christ. Maybe He healed your broken heart, gave your courage, or you gave Him your dreams as a love offering only to have Him give them back in an unimaginable way. Maybe God helped you survive to bedtime after a crazy Monday, or forgive yourself for missing it with your kiddos –– Whatever it is, let’s Remember Him. . . in a “Remember Me Monday” love letter.
“My mouth will tell of your righteousness,
Of your salvation all the day long,
Though I know not its measure.
I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign Lord”
~ Psalm 71:15-16.

Amen. It’s so beautiful to pause in the middle of the moment and to see God’s goodness right there! I’m a day late, but I’m trying to link my post about God bringing Praise in the midst of my pain. Thank you for a place to share His beauty together!

I love birds – even more the older I get, Beach birds, back yard birds. I never tire of their rhythm. Thanks so much for coming by Joanne!!! It’s so nice to connect again! ~ Maryleigh
Oh this is beautiful, MaryLeigh! Let’s give thanks to God for He is so good! His mercies are new every morning! Great is His faithfulness!
Every day I wake up, I wake anticipating how He is meeting me, what sweet encouragement He has in store for me. It has changed my life. When I did the chronological bible in a year, I was struck how God wants us to remember Him,to remember the big and little things He does for us – and He wants us to value those blessings! I’ve been wanting to do something like this on Mondays for quite a few years – and He opened the door for it! Thanks so much for coming God and joining in Praising our amazing Father! Shalom, Linda! ~ Maryleigh
Love this so much, Maryleigh!
God has come through for me, time after time. Today, I’m praising Him for the gift of three daughters, two sons-in-law, and three grandchildren. There were many years I thought there’d be no children!
I had days like those, too – when we had one and then no other children came – and it broke my heart. Did you also find all the stories of women in the bible who were barren but God answered their prayers? Those women taught me so very much! Praising God for hearing the barren woman’s cry! Shalom, Jerralea! ~ Maryleigh
