God’s Gracious Dealings
Today is a good day to remember what God has done for me.
Today is Day 13 from my first day of Covid. I’m tired. I’m moving slow. I’m dizzy – but I am well, as is my husband. So today, it’s in the low-to-mid-seventies, and I am going to find a sunny spot on the porch and remember. . .
“I’ll make a list of God’s gracious dealings,
all the things God has done that need praising,
All the generous bounties of God,
his great goodness to the family of Israel—
Compassion lavished,
love extravagant.”
~ Isaiah 63:7, The Message
A list of God’s Gracious Dealings
a mild covid case
salvation dreams of prayers answered
blankets for warmth and wrapping
a husband’s companionship on a journey together
lifting each other up when the other hasn’t the energy
both of us, watching out for each other,
laughter in the challenge
determination to not give up
an open-window-afternoon watching
the cardinals, a goldfinch couple,
black-capped chickadees,
and house finches
come home to summer
the pages to Anne of Green Gables
“All Things Great are Wound up with All Things little”
The White Way of Delight, The Lake of Shining Waters
and innocent hearts finding goodness
satisfying carbs
-no chicken noodle soup for this Covid menu-
thankful for those who picked up
and brought
just what our taste-buds needed
oxygen levels that stayed steady
fevers that settled at low-grade
then sunshine opened up
and the snowballs called to be cut
and placed in vases
and one grand little boy brought a train car
that he’d been waiting for 11 days
to bring back
to Muddy and Papaw’s
Thankful for the time
to sit and soak
God’s generous bounties
compassion lavished
love extravagant

Remember Me Monday: #37 & Linky
“I’ll make a list of God’s gracious dealings,
all the things God has done that need praising,
All the generous bounties of God,
his great goodness to the family of Israel—
Compassion lavished,
love extravagant.”
~ Isaiah 63:7, The Message
In the Old Testament, God repeatedly, quietly and loudly, tells his children, “You have forgotten me!” (Jeremiah 3:32, Ezekiel 22:12, to name a few). It’s a heart cry from a father to a child who has forgotten all the love, all the saving, helping, little and big blessings – and it leaves me stunned when I realize our Father, the creator of the universe, who knows things I cannot begin to fathom, who authors storylines that leave me amazed, delights in all of us so much, He cries out, “Remember Me.”
While every day is a Remember God Day, I am inviting you to join me on Monday mornings to come by and remember what God has done for you, for your family. Maybe God sent a cardinal darting out in front of you, as if to tell you, “I’m here,” or broke a child’s fever after you laid it all down at His feet in a 2 a.m. bedside vigil. Maybe He stood with you in the wait of a prayer sent out, or brought someone you loved to Christ. Maybe He healed your broken heart, gave your courage, or you gave Him your dreams as a love offering only to have Him give them back in an unimaginable way. Maybe God helped you survive to bedtime after a crazy Monday, or forgive yourself for missing it with your kiddos –– Whatever it is, let’s Remember Him. . . in a “Remember Me Monday” love letter.
“My mouth will tell of your righteousness,
Of your salvation all the day long,
Though I know not its measure.
I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign Lord”
~ Psalm 71:15-16.

So sorry you got Covid and glad you are on the mends. What a mighty God we serve. He provides in such beautiful ways even when we certainly do not deserve any of it or Him. I am so grateful He loves us no matter!
I love the quote from Mrs. Montgomery. What wonderful books to read when you are not feeling well. And what a bouquet of Snowballs. WOW!
Oh, I am so grateful that the Lord helped you to have a mild case of Covid. And I love the beauty that He helped you to pause and reflect on all around you. “The White Way of Delight” is such a lovely place to share with Anne! Kindred Spirits. May you feel His renewing strength and healing upon both you and your husband this week.
Awww, Maryleigh, I’m sorry you and your hubs got Covid. I’m glad you are recovering. I love snowballs. We had a huge bush in my backyard when I was a girl. They are just happy flowers, aren’t they? I am definitely a fan of Anne of Green Gables. I love the entire series. I’m saying some prayers for you today as you continue to come out of the illness.
I am so glad you and your hubby have had a mild case and are on the mend! So funny to see you mention the gold finch couple as we watched a “couple” as well over the weekend. They are just beautiful! May the Lord continue to give you both strength and a complete recovery.
So glad you are both in recovery from CoVid & that together through the Lord you are being cared for Maryleigh.
Anne of Green Gables was my daughters favorite tales!
Praying for you both to fully recover with no long lasting effects.
Bless you,
Jennifer
