A Stay-Desolation
“But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” Luke 5:16
A desolate place – at first I thought of it as a sad place, a dry place, an unhappy place. Then I realized a desolate place wasn’t that at all. It was a place empty of outward distractions. How I need a “desolate place” few days–and if I cannot have a whole 24-48 hours, maybe I can cobble together a few hours each day for the next week or two–that would be like a whole 24-48 hours.
I’m not going fishing. I’m not going to a mountain. Maybe it’s like a stay-cation–a stay-desolation.It will include cups of tea, though. . . and quiet. . . and the Father. . . I will let you know how it goes. See you soon!
