A Celebration Week
It’s wedding week. My third son, the Joy Bearer, asked me to make the wedding cake. When he said, “You make the best cake, Mom,” this mother’s heart just couldn’t say, “No.”
There’s the wedding cake to make, the pain au chocolates requested for the rehearsal dinner, pumpkins to stuff with rosemary, thyme, and pansies for center pieces. All the blankets and bedding has been fluffed for the out-of-town sons and my mom coming to town. There’s a list a mile long, but I’m not going to let my mind run ahead of the moment. I’m wanting to live intentionally in the right-now this week, focusing on the owners of the feet walking through my door, sitting around the table. I don’t want to rush through the good stuff.
