Wanting, Waiting, and the Unexpected Blessings — 11 Comments

  1. Thank you again for this beautiful post. I couldn’t find my first comment anymore, so if you get two from me, just keep the nicest one. 🙂

This Monday evening my husband and I were sitting outside with our last coffee of the day, looking up at the clouds. Then we saw a stork high above us, wings spread wide, floating on the warm air. I didn’t take a photo. We just watched.

It felt like one of those small gifts you wrote about. A quiet blessing to take into the week.

  2. “Gather the blessings I send while you wait for what you’ve sought me to provide.” That is powerful for even as we wait, God longs to bless. Beautiful post, Maryleigh, in both word and photos!

  3. Your ibis is beautiful, and the heron is one of my favorite birds. We saw one on a recent walk while on vacation, and it felt like a bonus blessing. God is wonderfully thoughtful that way, isn’t he?

  4. Very beautiful images! I know what you mean about what you would like to photograph and what you get in place of. I am thinking about doing the project 365 challenge. I have my camera (actually phone that does shoot raw) waiting for that one image I can grab. One day there was geese in town! Another day some really cool mushrooms. I mean they were big (non edible). It’s amazing what appears at the most unexpected moment.
Thank you for visiting Life Captured.
    All the best.

  5. Maryleigh, I love your photos and heart-warming thoughts in this post.

I wanted to stop by and share with you how much your comment tonight on my blog post, “Tabatha By The Sea of Galilee” meant to me tonight. So much so that I went back to my photos and added more photos of this supernaturally special location. This is the reply I sent you tonight on my blog post:

“Thank you so much for your gracious, thought-provoking comment. You inspired me to go back to my photos and add to this post photos of the church which contains a projection of limestone rock in front of the present altar which is venerated as a “Mensa Christi,” Latin for table of Christ. According to tradition this is the spot where Jesus is said to have laid out a breakfast of bread and fish for the Apostles, and told Peter to “Feed my sheep” after the miraculous catch, the third time he appeared to them after his resurrection. (John 21:1–24). It truly is His Grace which draws us to Christ, He sees us from the moment He knits us together in our birthmother’s womb until the moment He sees us face-to-Face in heaven. He loves us. We can trust Him. Thank you, again, for sharing your heart with me. It means so much. Many blessings to you, my friend.”

  6. I love this: “Gather the blessings I send while you wait for what you’ve sought me to provide. Don’t turn away what I send because it doesn’t fit your visuals of what hope realized should be.” So often, we miss what’s right in front of us because we’re looking or something else.

  7. Beautiful post and reminder to enjoy what God sends us, even if it’s not what we were looking for.
The pictures of the ibis are wonderful, but so is the one of the snow egret. It is also a very interesting and striking looking bird. I’m glad you didn’t miss it.

  8. Thank you for this encouragement, Maryleigh: “Gather the blessings I send while you wait for what you’ve sought me to provide.” ALL the birds you photographed are amazing!

  9. Oh my goodness what an amazing lesson. This>>” Gather the blessings I send while you wait for what you’ve sought me to provide.” Made me stop, pause and reflect. And your photos are amazing!

Thanks bunches for sharing with Sweet Tea & Friends this month Sweet friend. I’m so happy you’re here.
